1Sam 1:15

(THOT)
וַתַּעַן חַנָּה וַתֹּאמֶר לֹא אֲדֹנִי אִשָּׁה קְשַׁת־רוּחַ אָנֹכִי וְיַיִן וְשֵׁכָר לֹא שָׁתִיתִי וָאֶשְׁפֹּךְ אֶת־נַפְשִׁי לִפְנֵי יְהוָֽה׃
(ESV)
But Hannah answered, “No, my lord, I am a woman troubled in spirit. I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but aI have been pouring out my soul before the Lord.

1Sam 1:16

(THOT)
אַל־תִּתֵּן אֶת־אֲמָתְךָ לִפְנֵי בַּת־בְּלִיָּעַל כִּֽי־מֵרֹב שִׂיחִי וְכַעְסִי דִּבַּרְתִּי עַד־הֵֽנָּה׃
(ESV)
Do not regard your servant as ba worthless woman, for all along I have been speaking out of my great anxiety and vexation.”

1Sam 1:17

(THOT)
וַיַּעַן עֵלִי וַיֹּאמֶר לְכִי לְשָׁלוֹם וֵאלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל יִתֵּן אֶת־שֵׁלָתֵךְ אֲשֶׁר שָׁאַלְתְּ מֵעִמּֽוֹ׃
(ESV)
Then Eli answered, cGo in peace, and the God of Israel dgrant your petition that you have made to him.”

1Sam 1:18

(THOT)
וַתֹּאמֶר תִּמְצָא שִׁפְחָתְךָ חֵן בְּעֵינֶיךָ וַתֵּלֶךְ הָאִשָּׁה לְדַרְכָּהּ וַתֹּאכַל וּפָנֶיהָ לֹא־הָיוּ־לָהּ עֽוֹד׃
(ESV)
And she said, e“Let your servant find favor in your eyes.” Then the woman fwent her way and ate, and her face was no longer sad.

1Sam 1:19

(THOT)
וַיַּשְׁכִּמוּ בַבֹּקֶר וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲווּ לִפְנֵי יְהוָה וַיָּשֻׁבוּ וַיָּבֹאוּ אֶל־בֵּיתָם הָרָמָתָה וַיֵּדַע אֶלְקָנָה אֶת־חַנָּה אִשְׁתּוֹ וַיִּֽזְכְּרֶהָ יְהוָֽה׃
(ESV)
They rose early in the morning and worshiped before the Lord; then they went back to their house at gRamah. And Elkanah knew Hannah his wife, and the Lord hremembered her.

1Sam 1:20

(THOT)
וַיְהִי לִתְקֻפוֹת הַיָּמִים וַתַּהַר חַנָּה וַתֵּלֶד בֵּן וַתִּקְרָא אֶת־שְׁמוֹ שְׁמוּאֵל כִּי מֵיְהוָה שְׁאִלְתִּֽיו׃
(ESV)
And in due time Hannah conceived and bore a son, and she called his name Samuel, for she said, “I have asked for him from the Lord.”
 Samuel sounds like the Hebrew for heard of God


1Sam 1:21

(THOT)
וַיַּעַל הָאִישׁ אֶלְקָנָה וְכָל־בֵּיתוֹ לִזְבֹּחַ לַֽיהוָה אֶת־זֶבַח הַיָּמִים וְאֶת־נִדְרֽוֹ׃
(ESV)
The man Elkanah and all his house jwent up to offer to the Lord the yearly sacrifice and to pay his vow.

1Sam 1:22

(THOT)
וְחַנָּה לֹא עָלָתָה כִּֽי־אָמְרָה לְאִישָׁהּ עַד יִגָּמֵל הַנַּעַר וַהֲבִאֹתִיו וְנִרְאָה אֶת־פְּנֵי יְהוָה וְיָשַׁב שָׁם עַד־עוֹלָֽם׃
(ESV)
But Hannah did not go up, for she said to her husband, “As soon as the child is weaned, I will bring him, so that he may appear in the presence of the Lord kand dwell there forever.”

1Sam 1:23

(THOT)
וַיֹּאמֶר לָהּ אֶלְקָנָה אִישָׁהּ עֲשִׂי הַטּוֹב בְּעֵינַיִךְ שְׁבִי עַד־גָּמְלֵךְ אֹתוֹ אַךְ יָקֵם יְהוָה אֶת־דְּבָרוֹ וַתֵּשֶׁב הָֽאִשָּׁה וַתֵּינֶק אֶת־בְּנָהּ עַד־גָּמְלָהּ אֹתֽוֹ׃
(ESV)
lElkanah her husband said to her, “Do what seems best to you; wait until you have weaned him; monly, may the Lord establish his word.” So the woman remained and nursed her son until she weaned him.
